I like to enjoy a book as much as possible. The way to do this is:
1. If something is funny, laugh your heart out. Even if it's not that funny.
2. If something's sad, cry your eyes out, even if it's not that sad.
3. If something surprises you, scream your lungs out, even if it's not that exciting.
Now, you might be wondering how I ever read in a library. I don't. You also may be wondering how my family stands it when I read. They don't. I'll be reading in my room, ( which I share with my sister) and I'll be reading and then I make her jump to the ceiling when I burst out crying, screaming, or laughing. When it is time to turn off the lights at night, I'll be reading and she'll turn them off and I'll scream because I was " just coming to the good part ". She used to jump or scream too, but now she just tells me to be quiet and go to sleep. That's when I get my flashlight.
So if you do this, you might be heartless, eyeless, and lungless, but you'll have enjoyed the book a lot more.

Excellent advice! I too laugh out loud at books, but I guess I don't read very many frightening stories so I don't scream or jump. The creepiest book I ever read was The Mysteries of Udolpho by Anne Radcliffe. I would love to read in a library simply because I would have no interruptions. : )
Thanks Cloe, I love your advice! When I read a book I love to pretend I'm my favorite character, and when I get to the scary parts I get nervous and I go to the snack cupboard and get something to eat, while I'm eating I read that scary part and I usually end up crying or I talk saying stuff like "Why did that have to happen?" and so on.

Yeah ... okay, I'm glad I'm not the only one who actually laughs out loud at books and cries when they're sad. I couldn't even make it through Old Yeller without crying ... oh well. I'm just tender-hearted ... *ahem* or at least that's what I tell myself.
